Steiff
Margarete Steiff first began making her soft toys from her home in the 1870s. The first toy produced was a felt elephant in 1877. Orders soon began to flood in for more of her creations, from all over Germany. In 1889 Margarete was able to open her first factory. The business continued to expand. Sketches made by her nephew, Richard, led to the development of the first jointed soft toy bear-the Teddy Bear in 1902. Due to other factories copying her designs, she was forced to identify them with a metal button in the ear, first used in 1904. Today, Steiff teddy bears are still known for there superb quality and innovative designs.

cute little 1960s mohair dog! Excellent condition, with jointed head. Very slight fur loss. Woodwool/kapok stuffed. Has silver button! 12cm long.

1970s with all IDs! Has button and yellow tag (faded), plus chest tag (slightly faded) and swing tag! (damaged). Acrylic plush. Excellent condition!

Cute small size! 1960s, in good condition. Still has button in the ear and yellow tag (damaged). Mohair, with plastic collar. Head fur has some fading. Very slight fur loss. 11.5cm x 12cm high.
Steiff Floppy Cocker Spaniel
Beautiful 1950s-early 1960s mohair cocker spaniel, in excellent condition! Still has his silver button in the ear! Approx. 35cm from tip to tip.

smaller size! Soft- filled. Luxurious long mohair, with only a tiny amount of fur loss. Felt foot pads (markings have faded). No IDs. 19cm long. 1960s. Cute open mouth!

with the happiest face! 1960s draylon and mohair. Open mouth. Great condition-slightly dirty white draylon fur. Has his silver button and yellow tag! Cute! 20cm high.

Mohair. Lovely glass eyes and a jointed head! She has her original leather collar (some wear). Good condition-small amount of fur loss. 1950s. No IDs, but has the cotton where the swing tag would have been. Cute size! 10.5cm long.
